Russia and Iran hold talks on further co-operation within the BRICS framework

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mahdi Safari received his Russian counterpart Sergey Ryabkov at the Iranian Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, 15 November.

The Russian side emphasised Russia's priorities for BRICS during its presidency and presented a brief overview of BRICS history and activities. This is reported by TASS.

Safari noted that the field of activities of the association is very broad and diverse.

Iran reaffirmed its determination to actively participate in the initiative and said Iran's Foreign Ministry will make every effort to play an effective and constructive role in BRICS.

During the meeting, the officials also touched upon BRICS activities in the fields of economy, finance, trade, energy, transport, parliament, agriculture, new technologies, scientific research, health, AI, environment, airspace, sports, culture, youth and future development of BRICS.
