TV BRICS to present music by Russian composers on the air of Brazilian radio
The programme performed by the Orpheus Radio Symphony Orchestra will be broadcast for the first time on Radio Toda Palavra and Rádio Cultura Brasil
On Monday, 31 July, at 22:00 (GMT -03:00) on the air of the Brazilian radio station Toda Palavra (Rio de Janeiro) will premiere the programme "Sounds of Russia", which will present music of Russian composers performed by the Orpheus Radio Symphony Orchestra. With the assistance of the TV BRICS International Media Network, Brazilian listeners will be able to get acquainted with Russian musical culture and the performing skills of Russian artists.
The programme episodes will be dedicated to essays that have been given a second life. Within the framework of the "Reviving the Heritage of Russian Composers" project specialists of the TV and Radio Centre Orpheus restored works by Anton Arensky, Alexander Mosolov, Nikolai Golovanov, Georgy Katuar, Leonid Polovinkin, Aleksey Zhivotov and Vladimir Deshevov. These compositions will be included in the programme series "Sounds of Russia" on Brazilian radio Toda Palavra. The broadcasting of the musical compositions will be accompanied by informative sections in Portuguese about the composer and the history of the composition. "Sounds of Russia" will be aired every Monday.

In addition, on 1 August, music by Russian composers performed by the Radio "Orpheus" Symphony Orchestra, the state radio station broadcasting classical music in Russia, will also be heard on the airwaves of Rádio Cultura Brasil. The Brazilian radio station will broadcast content produced by Radio "Orpheus".

In 2022, a cooperation agreement was signed between the Orpheus Television and Radio Centre, of which Radio "Orpheus" is a part, and the international network TV BRICS. It provides for the popularisation of Russian academic music and performing schools in the BRICS countries. As part of the joint work, TV BRICS plans to premiere musical programmes performed by the Radio "Orpheus" Symphony Orchestra on the air of other foreign radio stations-partners of the TV BRICS network.

The radio is part of the Fundação Padre Anchieta (Padre Anchieta Foundation), owned by the Sao Paulo state government. It was one of the first AM radio stations in the city and country to move to an expanded broadcast band.
