Value of trade between Egypt and China exceeds US$13.9 billion

According to data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics, trade between the two nations reached a total of US$13.9 billion in 2023

The economic ties between China and Egypt were emphasised by the Central Agency for Public Mobilisation and Statistics during President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s visit to Beijing. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

On the tenth anniversary of Egypt and China's relationship developing into a comprehensive strategic partnership, the goal of this visit is to deepen bilateral ties and increase cooperation in a number of areas.

The source states that in 2023, Egypt's principal commodity groupings that it shipped to China were fruits, machinery and electrical appliances, mineral fuels, oil and distillation products, stone and cement goods, and copper and related products.

In contrast, iron and steel, plastics and related products, machinery and electrical appliances, synthetic textile fibres, and organic chemical products were Egypt's top imports from China in 2023.
