Vladimir Putin invites Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to the BRICS summit in Kazan
Russian President Vladimir Putin has invited his Egyptian counterpart Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to attend the XVI BRICS summit to be held in Kazan in October 2024.
Putin noted that due to Egypt's accession to the BRICS association, new, promising opportunities are opening up for building up fruitful cooperation between the two countries. This is reported by the official website of the Russian President.
"I would like to emphasise that from the very beginning Russia sincerely supported the Egyptian side's desire to become a full member of this association. During the Russian presidency of BRICS this year, we will try to do our best to ensure that Egypt effectively integrates into the work of the association"Vladimir Putin Russian President
The Russian President emphasised that more than two hundred BRICS events are scheduled for this year.
"And we expect Egyptian representatives to take the most active part in them. And of course, we are waiting for you, Mr. Sisi, at the BRICS summit in Kazan in October this year," he added.
On 1 January 2024, the Russian Federation will hold the BRICS presidency. The summit of the alliance will be held in Kazan in October.
Since the beginning of this year, Egypt, Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Ethiopia and the United Arab Emirates have become full members of BRICS.
