Xi Jinping re-elected to a third five-year term as Chinese president
Xi Jinping is unanimously elected president of the People's Republic of China (PRC) and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC) of the PRC at the third plenary meeting of the first session of the 14th National People's Congress (NPC) at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, capital of China, 10 March 2023.

The re-election of Xi Jinping, who will turn 70 in June, comes after an amendment to the Chinese Constitution in 2018: the same person can now serve an unlimited number of terms as head of state, as reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
In October, following the 20th Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Xi Jinping was also re-elected for a third term as general secretary of the CPC Central Committee.
Vladimir Putin congratulated Xi Jinping on his re-election as President of the People's Republic of China.
He said Russia highly appreciates Xi's personal contribution to strengthening the comprehensive partnership and strategic interaction between the two states.
"I am confident that by acting together, we will ensure an increase in fruitful Russian-Chinese cooperation in a wide range of areas. We will continue to coordinate our joint work on the most important issues of the regional and international agenda."![]()
