Iran’s Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, Reza Salehi Amiri, celebrated Yazd’s designation as the "World City of Traditional Jewellry," emphasising how this milestone reflects the seamless blend of Iran’s rich heritage with its creative and civilisational potential.

This recognition not only reinforces Iran’s cultural identity but also promises to boost tourism and economic opportunities in Yazd, while showcasing the country’s artistic craftsmanship on an international scale.

Yazd’s recognition builds upon its earlier success in 2017 when its historic urban landscape became Iran’s first UNESCO-listed heritage site. As a key component of the creative economy, handicrafts play a crucial role in repositioning Iran within the global cultural and economic landscape, as reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
