Oman exports 4,500 tonnes of squid to 19 countries in 2025
Vietnam was the largest buyer, followed by China and Malaysia
In 2025, Oman exported 4,500 tonnes of squid worth US$11.6 million. The produce was supplied to 19 countries. This was reported by Al Shabiba, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to data from Oman’s National Centre for Statistics and Information, around 14,000 tonnes of squid were caught in the country over the course of the year. The largest volume came from traditional fishing – 12,700 tonnes. A further 767 tonnes were caught through coastal fishing and 504 tonnes through commercial fishing.
The province of Al Wusta led the regions in terms of catch volume, with 4,460 tonnes. It was followed by Dhofar with 4,260 tonnes and South Al Sharqiyah with 2,340 tonnes.
Meanwhile, Oman imported around 485 tonnes of squid. The main suppliers were Yemen, China, and the UAE.
