Central Asian countries propose simplifying digital cooperation among five states
The countries' digital systems could become more interoperable

Experts and business representatives from Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan have proposed that their governments consider a draft agreement on cooperation in digital policy and artificial intelligence. This was reported by Kazinform, a TV BRICS partner.
The proposal to make the digital systems of the five countries more interoperable was discussed by participants in the regional round table “Integration of Central Asian Countries in the Digital Agenda” in Astana. According to Otabek Nasirov, Chairman of the Central Asian FinTech Association, the initiative provides for the preservation of national jurisdictions and legislation while simplifying interaction.
A number of measures have been proposed to achieve this. These include mutual recognition of electronic signatures and documents, simplifying cross-border payments, and developing digital identification and electronic document management, as well as aligning approaches to the regulation of artificial intelligence.
The authors of the initiative intend to submit the draft to the relevant authorities for consideration. The initiators hope to create conditions in which Central Asia will be viewed by international technology businesses as an interconnected regional market with a population of more than 80 million.
