Iran and Russia are preparing to establish a joint science and technology committee. This was stated by Ehsan Qaboul, Head of the Centre for International Scientific Cooperation under Iran's Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, according to Nournews, a TV BRICS partner.
“The document on international scientific cooperation between the two countries will be signed during a meeting of this committee,” Qaboul said. Iran's Minister of Science, Research and Technology will travel to Moscow within the next three months to finalise the document.
The Centre for International Scientific Cooperation has developed 500 cooperation programmes with Russian universities and research centres. These include 100 joint training courses involving Russian lecturers, the possibility of appointing a second academic supervisor from among Russian university lecturers for 100 doctoral and master's theses, as well as 100 technology-related events in science, education and technology.
In addition, plans include organising 100 joint cultural events with Russian universities and research and educational centres, and providing 100 scholarships to Russian students, with priority given to the study of Persian language and literature.
Iran supports the establishment of Persian language departments in Russia. Iranian lecturers are ready to teach Persian to Russian-speaking students both in person and online.
Earlier, Russian Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova and Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed Abbas Salehi signed an agreement on joint film production. This was reported on the website of the Russian Ministry of Culture.
