Minister: Every million tourists creates around 220,000 jobs in Egypt
The authorities believe the sector continues to grow against a backdrop of rising tourist numbers

Every million foreign tourists visiting Egypt helps to create around 220,000 jobs. This was stated by Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathi, as reported by Sada El-Balad, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the minister, the country’s tourism industry is showing positive growth. The authorities are working to develop various areas of the sector, attract investment and improve the quality of tourism services.
Particular attention is being paid to staff training, infrastructure development, improving air links and expanding tourism offerings. One of the projects will be the construction of a terminal at the airport in Cairo, designed to handle up to 40 million passengers a year. The project involves the use of artificial intelligence, digital technologies and smart management systems.
