Chinese programme helps female entrepreneurs in South Africa develop their businesses
Over 60 participants are taking part in a two-week training course in Johannesburg
A two-week training programme for female entrepreneurs has begun in Johannesburg, South Africa. More than 60 participants are studying business development and exploring opportunities for new partnerships. This was reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
The opening ceremony was attended by around 100 representatives from the business, education and media sectors in China and South Africa, as well as the programme participants.
The training is taking place as part of an international programme to support women entrepreneurs, organised by Beijing Foreign Studies University. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about China’s experience in business development, expand their professional networks and find new partners.
The programme includes female entrepreneurs from South Africa who previously undertook training in China. According to them, the knowledge they gained helped them to better understand the principles of business management, expand their business networks and identify new opportunities for cooperation.
The training in South Africa forms part of the African component of an international programme to support women entrepreneurs. The initiative is included in the Beijing Action Plan of the Forum on China–Africa Cooperation for 2025–2027 and has been designated as one of the key projects for the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges in 2026.
