Applications remain open for XV International Ballet Competition in Moscow
The event will take place on the historic stage of the Bolshoi Theatre and will be dedicated to the memory of choreographer Yuri Grigorovich
Applications remain open for participation in the XV International Ballet Competition. The event will be held in Moscow from 25 June to 5 July on the stage of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, with the international informational support of the TV BRICS International Media Network.
In 2026, the competition will be dedicated to the memory of choreographer Yuri Grigorovich, who for over 50 years served as the permanent artistic director and chair of the jury of this project.
The jury will traditionally include leading figures of global choreographic art. The chair of the jury will be People’s Artist of Russia, prima ballerina of the Bolshoi Theatre, and acting rector of the Moscow State Academy of Choreography Svetlana Zakharova.
Applications can be submitted on the official competition website until 20 March.
The International Ballet Competition has been held every four years since 1969 and is considered one of the most prestigious ballet contests in the world due to its history, reputation, and the opportunity it provides for young artists to perform on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre. In the XIV season in 2022, 112 competitors from 21 countries participated.
The founder of the competition is the Ministry of Culture of Russia.
