Belarus is steadily strengthening its economic ties with Latin America, achieving significant growth in bilateral trade, reports BelTA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Experts noted that Belarus has been actively expanding cooperation with countries beyond its traditional markets. Exports to Latin American nations increased 1.4 times, while shipments to Southeast and East Asia rose by 1.2 times, and exports to Africa grew by 6.6 per cent.

In 2019, trade turnover between Belarus and Latin American countries reached US$1.4 billion, with Belarusian exports accounting for US$764.3 million. According to the official statistics, the 1.4-fold increase in 2025 compared with 2024 demonstrates renewed momentum and signals the potential for sustained growth in the coming years.

The President of Belarus, Aleksander Lukashenko, recently reaffirmed the country’s openness to initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral relations with foreign partners. Belarusian officials expressed confidence that continued diplomatic engagement and expanding economic cooperation will help restore trade volumes to pre-pandemic levels and further enhance the country’s presence in Latin American markets.

According to the source, the initiative reflects Minsk’s broader strategy to strengthen partnerships with emerging economies.
