Brazilian authorities say they support Bolivia's aspirations to join BRICS
The expansion of the association will be discussed at the summit in Kazan
Brazil considers the possibility of Bolivia joining BRICS as an extremely positive prospect. Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva said this at a press conference following a meeting with Bolivian counterpart Luis Arce. This is reported by Metropoles, a partner of TV BRICS.

Bolivia notified the country's desire to join BRICS in June last year. In April 2024, Bolivian Foreign Minister Selinda Sosa expressed hope that her country would become a member of the association during a joint press conference with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
Earlier, the Russian Federation Council said that 40 countries from different regions of the world are ready to join BRICS. Among them, in addition to Bolivia, are Algeria, Bangladesh, Bahrain, Belarus, Cuba, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Nigeria, Senegal, Thailand, Venezuela, Vietnam and others.
