Kyrgyzstan plans to increase agricultural processing to 25% by 2030

The Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic has set a goal of increasing the level of agricultural product processing to 25 per cent by 2030. To achieve this, a plan is being implemented to construct 385 processing enterprises across the country. This was reported by Akchabar, a partner of TV BRICS.

In the Chuy Region, preparations are under way to open seven trade and logistics centres and 78 processing enterprises. In the Issyk-Kul Region, plans include the opening of six TLCs and 66 processing enterprises. These facilities will receive wheat, vegetables, fruit, milk, meat, and wool. Their operations are also expected to cover the production of oil and animal feed.

When planning the operation of the enterprises, the climatic and geographical characteristics of the regions will be taken into account to ensure that agricultural products are delivered for processing without loss of freshness or volume.

The implementation of the project covers all districts of the regions, which will make it possible to provide processing enterprises with a stable supply of raw materials in accordance with the sectoral specialisation of each region.

It is expected that the adopted plan will lead to a reduction in product losses, the creation of new jobs, and improved competitiveness of the country’s agro-industrial complex.
