Researchers from China implement new technology to monitor solar radiation

It combines data from several satellites and covers all continents

Chinese scientists in cooperation with several international research institutes have created a system that allows real-time monitoring of solar radiation in near-Earth space. This is reported by the Global Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

The new technology combines data from multiple satellites, so it can cover more areas and make observations more frequently than before. The system records the level of ultraviolet, visible and infrared radiation reaching the Earth's surface.

It is noted that the development helps to obtain important data for crop yield estimation, solar power plant placement, response to climate change and health forecasts.

According to experts, the technology plays a key role in the development of sustainable energy and contributes to China's environmental goals, including the transition to a low-carbon economy.

The system already covers all continents and is capable of providing updated data every hour with an accuracy of 5 kilometres. Going forward, it will become an important tool in global solar resource assessment and supporting sustainable development strategies.
