Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China (PRC), noted that Sino-Belarusian cooperation had reached a historic high during a meeting with Belarusian President Aleksander Lukashenko in Beijing. The PRC leader emphasised that Minsk and Beijing are developing a comprehensive strategic partnership. This was reported on the official website of the Belarusian President.

The President of Belarus arrived in Beijing on a working visit on 28 June. China was the first stop on Aleksander Lukashenko’s major overseas tour of East and South-East Asia.

"I am very pleased to welcome you again, my dear friend. I am very glad to see you. […] China and Belarus are iron friends. Our relations have withstood every test of international turbulence, and our friendship only grows stronger. Our cooperation is multifaceted, keeps pace with the times, and constantly produces new results. Belarus–China relations are experiencing a historic peak"

Aleksander Lukashenko noted that he greatly appreciated the positive assessment of relations between Minsk and Beijing by the President of the People’s Republic of China. The President emphasised the importance of the joint development of industry in both countries. Earlier, 2026-2027 had been declared the Years of Industrial Cooperation between Belarus and China.

"I am grateful to you for supporting this year and the next as part of an initiative to develop industry and industrial cooperation between our two countries. Belarus utilises your technologies across all areas of economic development. We are satisfied with the standard of these technologies and the quality of the products we receive today"

He cited the Great Stone industrial park as one example of successful cooperation between Minsk and Beijing, with the majority of foreign investment in the park coming from Chinese companies. The park is located in the Minsk Region and has the status of a special economic zone.

Aleksander Chervyakov, Belarus’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China, highlighted the increase in bilateral trade between the two countries, according to BelTA, a partner of TV BRICS.

"Whilst last year we saw growth of 15 per cent, this year’s trade turnover has already reached US$3.7 billion. That is a 117 per cent increase compared with the same period last year. Moreover, we are seeing very significant growth in exports – up 27 per cent. And I think this is not the limit. [...] This is an indicator of competitiveness for our enterprises,” the ambassador remarked.

During the talks, the two leaders also emphasised the importance of a constant exchange of views on the international agenda. Their discussions continued over the traditional family lunch, which goes beyond the bounds of diplomatic protocol and is a sign of the special personal trust between the President of Belarus and the President of the People’s Republic of China.
