The university and the department plan to actively promote scientific publications by Russian and Arab medical professionals
I. M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University and the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi have agreed to cooperate in the field of biomedicine and clinical research. The parties signed the corresponding memorandum at the international forum Abu Dhabi Global Health Week, held in the capital of the UAE. This is reported by the press service of Sechenov University.
The document provides for the development of joint scientific projects, creation of research groups, exchange of knowledge and methodologies, as well as the launch of educational programmes for students and specialists. The parties intend to pay special attention to research initiatives in the areas of pharmacogenetics, genomics, and innovative therapies.
The university and the department plan to actively promote scientific publications by Russian and Arab medical professionals, including in BRICS specialised publications, including the recently established The BRICS Health Journal.
"The memorandum is designed to unite the intellectual and resource potential of the parties - to ensure the development and implementation of educational programmes for training and professional development of medical specialists. Interaction with UAE universities – recognised centres of excellence in medical research and academic education – is of particular interest to our university," said Petr Glybochko, Rector of Sechenov University, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Earlier, the Russian university signed agreements with UAE medical schools – the University of Sharjah and Al Ain University. In addition, in March, the Emirati side approved the English-language master's programme "Management in Healthcare" at Sechenov University. The training will start in September this year in Dubai.
