Special event dedicated to handmade carpets to be held in Tehran
The source claims that the event will include meetings and seminars with renowned experts, designers, and master weavers. This is reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the organisers, the four-day programme is aimed at popularising the rich cultural heritage of Iranian handmade carpets, contributing to the recognition and support of this traditional craft.
The main events include a demonstration of the best carpets voted for by the public, a competition in which participants talk about the history and meaning of various carpet designs, sessions aimed at strengthening the digital presence and marketing strategies of handmade carpets, as well as workshops on weaving schools and carpet authenticity.
The designs seen in Persian gardens may be the most defining aspect of Persian carpets, which are highly sought-after worldwide. At the loom, weavers string and tie thousands of threads over the course of several months. Certain people employ well-known patterns. Some individuals create them on their own.
Each Persian carpet is a scenario that appears timeless, and the process can take up to a year. Iranian carpets have been among the hardest and most time-consuming handcrafted goods in the world for a considerable amount of time because of these efforts. After the carpet is eventually finished being woven, it is cut, cleaned, and left to dry in the sun.
More than 400 manufacturing and exporting companies will take part in the exhibition, which will occupy an extensive exhibition area of 50,000 square metres, located in four halls.
