Zimbabwe celebrates month of culture
The activities are divided into themed weeks
Caroline Makoni, head of the National Arts Council NACZ, said various activities including traditional dances and art exhibitions are planned for the month of May. The activities are designed to encourage community engagement and pride in Zimbabwe's cultural identity.
This year's Culture Month started in Chipinge district where people came together to celebrate their heritage and promote understanding and tolerance. This is reported by New Ziana.
The Culture Month programme has been introduced by NACZ in collaboration with cultural and creative industry stakeholders and partners across the country.
Activities are divided into themed weeks focusing on indigenous cuisines, African languages, local fashion, cultural dialogue and diverse cultural activities.
