In two decades, the group, which began with four countries, has grown to ten. Their combined GDP at purchasing power parity approaches US$85 trillion, which makes up 40 per cent of world GDP.

Why has international trade and trade diplomacy changed thanks to BRICS? What are the most tangible results of joint work? And how does the group shape multipolarity and contribute to the sustainable development of the countries of the Global South?

On these and many other questions and topics: Valery Abramov, Chief Researcher at the Institute of International Economic Relations at Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, and Marco Fernandes, Representative of Brazil at the Civil BRICS Council, Geopolitical Analyst at Brasil de Fato.

Via a video conference with the Moscow studio: Fulufhelo Netswera, Head of the BRICS Research Institute (South Africa); Shen Yi, Director of the Center for BRICS Studies, Professor at the School of International Relations and Public Affairs at Fudan University (China); Kumari Mansi, Assistant Professor, Coordinator, Amity Centre for BRICS Studies (India).
