Thailand is actively strengthening diplomatic, economic and humanitarian ties with the BRICS countries. The Kingdom is one of the world's top 20 economies and among the most populous nations. Thailand's major trading partners include China, India, and the UAE, as well as Indonesia, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

The culture of Thailand, which is also called the "The Land of Smiles", is based on Buddhism: it is professed by the majority of the population. Religion has influenced local architecture, painting, sculpture. In the kingdom you can see many temples and monasteries built in different eras. Often travellers from all over the world choose this tourist destination to watch a performance of the traditional Khon mask theatre. Thais celebrate New Year's Eve not only on the night of 31 December to 1 January. In April, they celebrate Songkran, during which it is customary to pour water on each other, wishing happiness and prosperity.
