Indian airlines to strengthen their position in international carriage segment
Experts have made a forecast till 2028
The share of domestic airlines in international passenger traffic in India will grow by 50 per cent by fiscal 2028 from 43 per cent in 2024. This is reported by ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.
Such dynamics is due to Indian airlines acquiring additional aircraft and adding new routes in the international segment, the agency said citing analysts' data.
The position of Indian carriers in the market will strengthen, as international transportations are more profitable than domestic ones.
India's international passenger traffic has grown to around 70 million in FY 2024 from 10 million in FY 2021 and has surpassed the pre-pandemic level.
The growth rate of local airlines, whose performance had earlier steadily increased, has improved sharply after the pandemic.
