Iran sends largest trade delegation to Russia in decade
More than 200 government and economic representatives join the visit as Iran seeks to expand trade and export opportunities with Russia and the Eurasian region

Iran has sent its largest trade delegation to Russia in the past decade, bringing together around 30 government officials and 180 representatives of the country's economic and trade sectors, according to Iran's Trade Promotion Organisation.
The delegation includes provincial governors, deputy ministers and representatives from several Iranian provinces, as reported by IRNA, a TV BRICS partner. Amir Roshanbakhsh, Deputy Head of the Trade Promotion Organisation for International Business Promotion, said the visit is intended to support stronger commercial links and help Iranian exporters explore new markets.
The programme coincides with major international trade events that took place in Moscow and St. Petersburg, providing participants with opportunities to establish new economic contacts and present Iranian products to international markets.
Roshanbakhsh also highlighted the role of Iran's free trade agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in encouraging greater participation in regional trade.
According to the official, the scale of the delegation reflects expanding opportunities for trade between Iran and Eurasian countries. He noted that international and regional agreements can contribute to facilitating commerce and creating new opportunities for exporters.
The visit comes as Iran seeks to use preferential trade arrangements and closer regional economic cooperation to strengthen commercial ties with Russia and other EAEU members.
