Iranian President congratulates Olympic medallists

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf congratulated wrestling gold medal winner Mohammad Hadi Saravi and taekwondo bronze medal winner Mobina Nematzadeh at the Paris Olympics. 

Senior Iranian officials expressed their admiration and gratitude via social media. "Your gold medal bears the color of hope for the people of the country," said Pezeshkian.

For his part, Ghalibaf expressed his pride in Nematzadeh and the achievements of the athletes, and that Saravi had "enlightened the heart of the nation". 

Saravi received the Olympic gold after defeating Armenian wrestler Artur Aleksanyan. This is reported by IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Nematzadeh received bronze after defeating Saudi athlete Dunya Abutaleb in the 49kg category, becoming only the second woman in Iran to receive an Olympic medal.
