Two satellites to be launched in Iran in July

Compatibility tests between the satellites and their launchers are underway

The Iranian Space Agency (ISA) is preparing to launch two satellites in July. This is reported by Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

ISA head Hassan Salarieh noted the importance of these technical tests and warned of the possibility of delays due to unforeseen problems. However, Salarieh expressed confidence that the Pars-2 satellites and the upgraded version of Pars-1 will be ready for launch in this Iranian calendar year, which ends on 20 March 2025.

He also said Iran's first radar satellite is likely to be completed next year. In addition, test models of the "Qassem Soleimani" satellite system are in the final stage of development and should be ready for launch this year.

Apart from the upcoming launches, Salarieh said about 30 satellites are currently under development, each of which usually takes two years or more to complete. Among them are the Nahid-3, Pars-3 and two additional radar satellites projects.

Iran continues to actively develop its space programme focused on building and launching various types of satellites for communications, remote sensing and scientific research.
