Parties highlight the strategic nature of bilateral relations

During an official visit to India, Dubai’s Crown Prince and UAE Deputy Prime Minister Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Maktoum met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting was reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

The two leaders discussed strengthening the strategic partnership that has been developing for over a decade. The talks also focused on economic, trade, investment, technology, healthcare, and education cooperation.

Special attention was given to expanding joint projects in renewable energy, Artificial intelligence, digitalisation, logistics, infrastructure, and space.

The UAE Vice President emphasised that the UAE highly values the contributions of the Indian diaspora to the country’s development. Hamdan reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring favourable living and business conditions for both citizens and residents.

The parties also reviewed the implementation of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), signed in 2022. Notably, bilateral trade grew by 20.5 per cent in 2024, reaching 240 billion dirhams (US$65billion), up from 199.3 billion dirhams (US$54billion) the previous year.

The two countries aim to increase trade volume to US$100 billion by 2030.
