Brazilian athlete wins Table Tennis World Cup

Hugo Calderano became the first winner of the tournament from Latin American countries in history

In the final of the International Table Tennis Federation World Cup held in China, Hugo Calderano (Brazil) defeated Lin Shidong (China), ranked number one in the world rankings. This is reported by Metropoles, a partner of TV BRICS.

Lin won the first set 11:6, but Calderano managed to win the next four games 11:7, 11:9, 11:4 and 11:5. The entire game lasted 42 minutes.

The women's final was won by Sun Yingsha (China), who defeated compatriot Kuai Man (11:9, 11:6, 11:9, 11:6).

The tournament was held in China for the second consecutive year after a four-year break due to the pandemic.
