China's Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong: China-Africa Cooperation summit to strengthen relations between two regions

The summit will take place on 4-6 September in Beijing

China says the upcoming China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) summit in Beijing, which will bring together African leaders, will strengthen relations between the two regions. Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong made this statement at a press conference. This is reported by ZBC News, a partner of TV BRICS.

He specified that the summit, scheduled for 4-6 September, will be an important step in strengthening friendship between China and the African continent. In addition, he emphasised that the summit will help identify areas for further cooperation.

Chen noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping attaches great importance to relations with Africa, as evidenced by the fact that his first foreign visit after taking office in 2013 was to Africa and he has since visited the continent five times.
