Iran launches advanced cancer hospital with cutting-edge technology

A cancer hospital with a capacity of 563 patients has opened in the Iranian capital. It features 19 operating theatres, a 12-bed intensive care unit, and six state-of-the-art radiotherapy suites. This was reported by Nour News, a partner of TV BRICS.
The hospital will treat all major types of cancer in children and adults, including brain tumours, blood cancer, bone cancer, and cancers of the chest and abdominal cavities.
Treatment will be provided by the country’s leading specialists, who will be able to use modern cellular and genetic methods, perform specialised surgical procedures, and administer radiotherapy and chemotherapy.
The centre is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, including the CyberKnife system, one of the most advanced robotic radiosurgical technologies for treating tumours using a non-invasive method, without surgical intervention.
Construction of the centre took less than six years. According to the authorities, the opening of the hospital represents an important step towards improving access to cancer treatment across the country.
