Egyptian and Djibouti Energy Misters hold meeting to discuss cooperation in renewable energy sources
The meeting demonstrated the desire of both countries to actively co-operate on energy and sustainable development issues
Egypt's Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Mahmoud Essmat met with Djibouti's Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Yonis Ali Guedi in Cairo to discuss further co-operation in the fields of electricity and renewable energy.
The minister Mahmoud Essmat highlighted Egypt's keenness to provide technical support to African countries, especially in the field of renewable energy, and suggested the establishment of specialised training programmes for Djibouti, including the topic of green hydrogen. This is reported by Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.
The discussion also touched on the possibility of Egyptian private companies' participation in Djiboutian projects and joint initiatives in the field of renewable energy. Essmat emphasised the importance of deepening cooperation to achieve the common goals of sustainable development and prosperity on the African continent.
In response, Guedi expressed his sense of appreciation for the support and praised Egypt's expertise in the energy sector, affirming Djibouti's keenness to further strengthen the partnership.
