In the first quarter of 2024, 5.18 million foreign tourists visited UAE
Dubai confirms its position as the world's preferred tourist destination
According to forecasts, Dubai will soon become one of the world's top three cities for business and entertainment. Visitors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) regions, as well as the Middle East and North Africa, accounted for 25 per cent of visitors in the first quarter of 2024. This was reported by Emirates News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
According to the source, Dubai continues to record numbers in the tourism sector and the number of foreign visitors. On this occasion, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, confirmed that the number of visitors in the first quarter of 2024 indicates the beginning of a new year of high figures.
Dubai has invested for years in developing high-level infrastructure serving citizens, residents and guests, and has improved the performance of all its sectors in accordance with the highest international standards and practices to become the smartest, fastest and most advanced city to serve everyone who lives on its land or visits it as a guest of honor.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum highly appreciated the efforts of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism to successfully promote the Emirate at the global level and present an outstanding tourism product.
The increase in the number of foreign visitors in the first quarter of this year was the result of comprehensive strategies that the emirate adopted and implemented in a number of key areas of the tourism sector, including sustainable development, entrepreneurship and innovation, as well as a group of other key factors.
The emirate has also hosted a number of major specialized events, such as the Arab Health Exhibition and Conference and the Dubai International Boat Show.
Currently, the Dubai Food Festival is taking place in the emirate, which will last until May 12 inclusive and is one of the most exciting events dedicated to food and culinary arts in Dubai.
