Saudi Arabia extends Best Agricultural Practices programme to the Asir region

In a bid to expand coffee cultivation in Saudi Arabia, the country has launched its Best Agricultural Practices programme in the Asir region. This is reported by Arab News.

The six-day programme, conducted by leading coffee experts, provides farmers, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts with knowledge and skills in coffee growing and drying.

The programme includes theoretical workshops and practical sessions that cover topics such as nursery management, soil preparation, shade tree care, and modern fertilisation techniques. 

Earlier, similar programmes have already been held in Jazan and Baha, where more than 450 farmers gained valuable knowledge. The programme in Asir aims to improve coffee quality in the southern regions of the country, where coffee cultivation is a deeply rooted tradition.

Participants in the programme can earn accredited certificates that enhance their competitiveness and contribute to the development of the coffee industry in Saudi Arabia.
