Cleber Oliveira Soares, Executive Secretary of Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil: "BRICS countries play key role in ensuring global food and energy security"
One of the important outcomes of Brazil's BRICS presidency in 2025 was the launch of the Land Restoration Partnership. The initiative is designed to mobilise investment and stimulate the development of science-based solutions to combat soil degradation and desertification.
What short-term goals can be achieved through this initiative? How does the Federative Republic intend to reduce the use of synthetic fertilisers by the country's farmers? How widely are local farmers applying innovative technologies?
