The Art of Sport. Curling and Painting
The second instalment of The Art of Sport series will focus on curling.
Why can this game be compared to painting? In what way do the movements of the athletes and the stones on the ice resemble the brushstrokes of a painter? And what do the precision of a throw and the precision of a brushstroke have in common?
The film’s main character is the country’s most decorated curler, Kira Ezekh. Dmitry Svishchyov, President of the Russian Curling Federation, will share his views on the development of the sport. Meanwhile, Sergey Kupriyanov, President of the Russian Abstractionist Union, will explain why it is just as hard to tear oneself away from watching a curling match as it is from contemplating a masterpiece of painting.
