The Art of Sport. Triathlon and Theatre
The final instalment of the documentary series The Art of Sport is devoted to triathlon.
How is a discipline that combines swimming, cycling and running similar to the theatre stage? What do the self-improvement of a triathlete and that of a professional actor have in common? And why, on the course – just like on stage – does the fear you manage sometimes become your greatest ally?
Diana Isakova, a multiple Russian champion, European Championship silver medallist and World Cup stage winner, will explain how her childhood reluctance to swim paved the way to the world’s most prestigious podiums. Kseniya Shoygu, head of the Russian Triathlon Federation, will share her thoughts on why athletes’ mental preparation is no less important than their physical training. And actor Aleksander Fokin will demonstrate that the paths to success in theatre and sport are not so different after all.
