A new instalment in the documentary series The Art of Sport offers an unusual perspective on equestrian sport.

What does it have in common with drumming? Why does every step in the arena require precise rhythm and flawless coordination? And how does a love of horses help to strike a balance between technique honed over many years and improvisation?

Anastasiya Shcherbakova, an international-class master of sport and Russian champion, will reveal the secrets of becoming a professional rider. Marina Sechina, President of the Russian Equestrian Federation, and Vladimir Beletskiy, head coach of the national teams, will discuss expanding opportunities for the training and competition of young athletes. Meanwhile, drummer Denis Kshnyasev will attempt to find common ground between an athlete’s training and a musical rehearsal.
