Beijing to host international music festival

Musicians from BRICS countries will perform in the capital of China

The 27th Beijing Music Festival will be held from 5 to 13 October. This is reported by Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The event programme includes 10 concerts featuring musicians from different countries, including China, Russia and South Africa. The festival will be opened by the National Symphony Orchestra of the People's Republic of China under the direction of world-renowned composer Tan Dun.

In addition to musical performances, a large-scale cultural programme has been prepared for the guests. Flash mobs and performances will be held throughout the Central Axis of Beijing. This area of the Chinese capital is home to historical sites and landmarks up to 700 years old. Previously, Beijing's Central Axis was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The festival will also feature meetings with musicians, open rehearsals and masterclasses.

The Beijing Music Festival has been held regularly since 1998.
