The concert was dedicated to the 78th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and India
Renowned Bollywood performer Shaan gave a concert for residents of the Russian capital. The artist is considered one of the most beloved vocalists in India, although his hits are known beyond the country’s borders. He performs primarily in Hindi, Bengali, Kannada, and Telugu, and the central theme of his work is love. Both Russian and Indian fans eagerly awaited the singer’s arrival in Moscow.
The concert was organised by the Overseas Bihar Association (OBA) in collaboration with the Indian Embassy in Moscow to mark the 78th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and India. The history of friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries began on 13 April 1947. The Ambassador of India to Russia, Vinay Kumar, spoke about the importance of cultural unity.
“We are celebrating a culture that unites the peoples of Russia and India. Among those who came to enjoy the concert were not only members of the Indian diaspora, but also many of our Russian friends. Some of them even speak Hindi. Others simply wanted to discover a new culture,” he said.
The number of Russians interested in the history and traditions of this South Asian country continues to grow steadily. In 2025, the Indian Culture Festival in Moscow attracted 825,000 visitors.
