India and Indonesia lead medal standings at World Archery Para Series in Bangkok
India tops standings through compound events, while Indonesia finishes second with medals across multiple categories
India and Indonesia emerged as the leading performers at the World Archery Para Series in Bangkok, delivering strong results across multiple disciplines and underlining Asia’s growing influence in para-archery.
In the men’s competition, Indian athletes Toman Kumar and Shyam Sunder Swami delivered a commanding 153–146 win.
India topped the overall standings, driven by a clean sweep of gold medals in compound team events, reports ANI, a partner of TV BRICS. The women’s team of Sheetal Devi and Payal Nag secured gold with a 150–147 victory over Kazakhstan.
Indonesia, meanwhile, finished second overall with a total of six medals – three gold, one silver and two bronze – showcasing strength across both recurve and compound disciplines, reports ANTARA.
Indonesia’s success extended to team events. In the women’s recurve team competition, Noviera Ross and Riyanti Ananda secured gold after a 5–3 victory over the host nation’s pair. Kholidin and Ananda also triumphed in the mixed recurve team event.
Additional medals further strengthened Indonesia’s tally. Setiawan earned bronze in the men’s individual recurve, while Ananda added another bronze in the women’s individual recurve.
In the compound category, Indonesia claimed silver in the mixed team event through Teodora Audi Ayudia Ferelly and Arif Firmansyah, finishing behind India with a final score of 146–153.
The results highlight the competitive depth of both teams, with India excelling in compound events and Indonesia demonstrating consistency across disciplines. Experts stated that the tournament further underscored the rising standard of para-archery in the region and its growing presence on the global stage.
