Iranian athletes secure gold medals in wushu at World Games in China
Two other athletes won a bronze and silver medal
Iran’s wushu team concluded their campaign at the 2025 World Games in Chengdu, China, with remarkable success, highlighted by Yasaman Bagherzadeh’s gold medal in the women’s 70kg sanda category. This is reported by

Bagherzadeh, already a dominant figure on the Asian and world stage, defeated opponents from Brazil and Bermuda before overcoming China’s top contender in the final with precision and determination.
In the women’s 60kg division, veteran Soheila Mansourian claimed bronze after defeating a Chinese representative in straight rounds. Meanwhile, in the men’s 85kg category, Mohammadreza Rigi advanced past challengers from Colombia and Spain but fell to Egypt’s Wudan Al-Hussein in the final, securing silver.
Earlier in the Games, Shahin Bani-Tabrizi had captured gold in taolu, meaning Iran’s wushu athletes contributed two of the country’s three gold medals in Chengdu.
