Over the past year, more than 1,310 legal awareness events have taken place, reaching over 100,000 citizens
Kazakhstan is intensifying efforts to improve public legal literacy and ensure greater accessibility to legal services, aligning with national priorities to strengthen legal awareness and simplify justice processes. This is reported by "Delovoy Kazakhstan", a partner of TV BRICS.
As part of this initiative, the Ministry of Justice has launched several public programmes in 2024, including "People’s Lawyer," "Justice Consults," "Open Door Day," and "Free Legal Aid Days." These initiatives provide legal assistance and consultations through direct engagement with communities across all regions. Over the past year, more than 1,310 legal awareness events have taken place, reaching over 100,000 citizens.
To improve access to legal resources in rural areas, approximately 2,000 law offices have been established within public service corners in district and village clubs, leisure centres, and other community spaces. These offices are fully equipped with digital tools, offering access to legal databases and online legal information systems, enabling citizens to familiarise themselves with current legislation and legal procedures.
Additionally, the country has introduced an integrated digital notary system, enabling the issuance of various legal documents online, including powers of attorney and spousal consents, with the exception of property-related transactions.
This service, which incorporates biometric identity verification and secure digital signatures, has facilitated over 168,000 legal authorisations and 67,500 spousal consents remotely.
Further enhancements are planned for 2025, including expanding digital legal education for over 300,000 citizens and introducing an AI-powered legal assistant chatbot for simple legal consultations.
