More than 70 cities across Russia and seven foreign countries join campaign “Being healthy is fashionable”
Participants in a live teleconference from different countries simultaneously poured cold water over themselves
More than 12,000 people took part in the international campaign “Being healthy is fashionable”, dedicated to promoting a healthy lifestyle. The event was timed to coincide with the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, declared for 2026 by the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. The campaign covered over 70 cities across Russia, as well as venues in seven foreign countries.
The main venue was the square in front of the Podmoskovie House of Culture in Krasnogorsk. At the same time, the campaign took place in dozens of Russian cities – from Arkhangelsk to Yakutsk and from Rostov-on-Don to Vladivostok. Abroad, participants from China, Nigeria, Zambia and other countries joined the movement.
All venues were connected via a live teleconference, allowing audiences to follow the events in real time. The culmination of the campaign was a mass dousing with cold water from buckets painted in the colours of the Russian flag. On the main stage in Krasnogorsk, activists staged a dance flash mob and performed the Russian national anthem, while the dousing itself was accompanied by music and a celebratory ribbon salute.
The event was organised with the support of the Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation and the Maritime Board under the Government of the Russian Federation. The ages of the participants ranged from 5 to 60.
