Scientists find Middle Kingdom tomb in Egypt

Other finds include rings, bracelets and chains made of red agate, blue and green faience

The archaeological mission made the discovery at the South Asasif necropolis near Luxor, uncovering the first Middle Kingdom tomb in the region, as well as many sealed burials and artefacts dating back nearly 4,000 years.

The find includes numerous burials of men, women and children that have remained intact for thousands of years, as reported by ahromonline.

Among the most notable finds are jewellery buried with the women and a number of other unique items.

While many of the burials have significant damage caused by ancient floods that destroyed wooden coffins and linen wrappings, more durable materials such as jewellery and pottery have survived well.

Other finds include rings, bracelets and chains made of red agate, blue and green faience, and inlaid stone decorated with animal-shaped amulets.
