South African Ambassador to Ethiopia Nonceba Losi: there is growing potential for tourism collaboration under broader BRICS framework
South African Embassy in Ethiopia will work to develop concrete proposals and programmes to boost tourism exchanges
South Africa is keen to strengthen bilateral relations with Ethiopia, with a particular focus on enhancing tourism cooperation within BRICS, Ambassador Nonceba Losi has said.
In an interview with ENA, a partner of TV BRICS, South African Ambassador to Ethiopia Nonceba Losi emphasised the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries in many fields.
With Ethiopia joining BRICS, she said, new opportunities for cooperation in the tourism sector are opening up.
“There is a track of tourism ministers under BRICS, and we would love to ensure these countries work with each other and visit each other. The population within BRICS is massive, and we can leverage that for economic development and increased tourist flows,” she said.
Ambassador Losi also pointed to opportunities for technical cooperation, mentioning experienced South African rangers who could assist Ethiopia in protecting and conserving its nature reserves.
The Ambassador said the South African Embassy in Ethiopia will work on developing concrete proposals and programmes to enhance tourism exchanges, including attracting more South African tourists to Ethiopia.
