Shipments of the premium nut generated US$730 million in revenue during the first nine months of the Iranian year
Iran supplied around 100,000 tonnes of fresh pistachio products to international buyers between 21 March and 22 December 2025, with export earnings reaching US$730 million. The figures were announced by Dariush Salempour, Head of the Non-Tropical Fruit Department at the Ministry of Agriculture.
Salempour said the consignments reached 67 destinations worldwide. He highlighted the broad geographical coverage as evidence of sustained demand for Iranian produce across established and emerging markets. As reported by Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
Data from the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) confirm that the export basket included in-shell pistachios, green kernels and related processed items. The volumes reported by the customs authority correspond to the totals presented by the ministry.
During the period under review, key importers comprised India, the United Arab Emirates, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, and China. The official noted that these routes remain central to the country’s agricultural trade flows.
Looking at longer-term dynamics, Salempour added that more than 175,000 tonnes of pistachio products worth US$1.7 billion were delivered to foreign markets in 2024, underscoring the commodity’s strong contribution to national export revenues.
