Moscow leads Russia in exports of non-resource goods

Supplies of Moscow products covered 157 countries

According to the results of 2024, Moscow has become the leading region of Russia in terms of non-resource non-energy exports (NRE). This was reported by the Department of Transport of the city.

Thus, 65 per cent of the total volume of supplies were industrial products, which is 7 per cent more than last year. The main importers are Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, and India.

Anatoly Garbuzov, Minister of the Moscow Government, Head of the Department of Investment and Industrial Policy, noted that Moscow food products are in demand in China.

"Exports of food industry goods – baby food, chocolate, sausage, and pasta products – grew by 18 per cent and accounted for about 8 per cent of the capital's supplies," he stressed.

In addition, the capital's pharmaceutical products and cosmetics are in demand in Congo and Nigeria.

Exports of equipment for power generation and distribution increased by 8 per cent. This machinery is in demand in India, China, and Bolivia.

NRE include machinery, equipment, chemical and pharmaceutical goods, agricultural and food products (meat, grain, beverages), light industrial goods (clothing, textiles, footwear), automobiles and auto parts, electronics and household appliances, as well as high-tech products (software, optics, scientific instruments).
