South Africa to host investment and trade summit in agriculture

The event will serve as a platform to position Africa at the forefront of global agricultural trade and investment

From 27 to 29 March 2025, the 2025 BRICS+ Agriculture Investment & Trade Summit will take place at the Durban International Convention Centre, South Africa.

Under the theme “Make Africa Great”, the event will bring together leading government officials, business executives, and international organisations from over 25 countries, including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Brazil, Ghana, Rwanda, Mozambique, Tunisia, Egypt, Namibia, India, Ethiopia, Nigeria, and Russia.

Participants at the event include former South African President Jacob Zuma (2009-2018), former Chairperson of the African Union Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, Chair of the BRICS Women's Business Alliance in South Africa Lebogang Zulu, South African High Commissioner in India Anil Sooklal, and others.

The summit is organised by the African Investors Council in partnership with the Expanded BRICS Women Foundation and supported by the BRICS Women’s Business Alliance. TV BRICS will be the official media partner of the event.

Key Features of the Summit:

  • Moderated exhibitions – beyond traditional displays, this platform enables exhibitors to engage directly with an international audience;

  • Investor Pitch Decks and suction-style project presentations (BRICS Power Pitch Decks) – selected projects will be presented in an auction-style format, allowing investors to engage directly with project leaders for immediate investment opportunities;

  • B2B & B2G negotiations – opportunities for securing international contracts and agreements;

  • Investment Session “Make Africa Great” – aims to empower over 6 million smallholder farmers across Africa.

The summit is expected to lead to the signing of over 50 partnership agreements and the launch of new mentorship initiatives to support women in agriculture.
