BRICS: in the Mirror of Times. Cooperation between Moscow and New Delhi after India's independence
In the summer of 1947, one of the most significant events in modern history took place - India gained independence from British rule. The country that made perhaps the most significant contribution to the formation of the new republic was the Soviet Union.
What was the state of the Indian economy at the time of liberation from colonial oppression? How did the slogan "Hindi rusi bhai bhai" ("Indians and Russians are brothers") come about? And what legacy has the friendship between the two countries left in various fields? Gleb Makarevich, Junior Research Fellow at the Centre for the Indian Ocean Region of the Institute of World Economy and International Relations (IMEMO) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, will talk about this and more in the studio of the "BRICS: In the Mirror of Times" project.
The joint TV BRICS and GAUGN project received grant support from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science under the federal project "Popularisation of Science and Technology".
