One belt, one road: from past to future
Xi’an is the capital of the Shaanxi Province and the cradle of Chinese civilization. Here, the roads of the country’s past and future converge. The city became the starting point of the Silk Road, the largest trade route feeding East and West. Today, trains transport tons of goods in “iron” camel caravans to Central Asian and European countries. The province’s role as the largest transportation hub is thanks to the One Belt One Road initiative. This massive project celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2023. Today, it’s no exaggeration to say all of China is working on it.
This special TV BRICS project looks at how a new global world is being built, connected by a network of transportation, logistics and economic ties.
